The coach, dating back to 1825, was used for the Maharaja\u2019s royal engagements \u2013 transporting the Prince of Wales, His Royal Highness was one of them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-449\" title=\"beautiful horse drawn State Carriage belonging to the Maharaja of Mysore - 1825\" src=\"https:\/\/www.indianholiday.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/horse-drawn-the-Maharaja-of-Mysore.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The coach is an absolute work of art, with an ornately finished cruciform body with a domed, vaulted ceiling \u2013 resting on iron bound, artillery patterned <span id=\"GRmark_dc7318b0128b0450dbd1324304da12ae2792b467_wheels:0\" class=\"GRcorrect\">wheels<\/span>. The interiors are upholstered in beige damask while the ceiling features carved border molding and finials and decorative <span id=\"GRmark_f6d28fcfcc90d6c4bf8022629c855e792b145fc8_paintwork:0\" class=\"GRcorrect\">paintwork<\/span>. The coach\u2019s base is olive green in color and is embellished with floral and heraldic motifs. The coach\u2019s 16 windows offer decorated panels with separate shutters. There are 2 seats in the carriage\u2019s exterior \u2013 one each for a drive and a servant\/courtier.<\/p>\n<p>The coach was first auctioned in Australia in 1974 and was later put on exhibition at the Fine Art and Antiques Fair in London in 1991. The coach was acquired by Historics in 2010, who then began restoration work on the carriage.
