Detail Itinerary

On your arrival in the city of Bangalore, you can check in at the hotel Taj West End. Enjoy nature walk in the heritage gardens of the Taj. High tea will be organized for all guests aboard the Pride of the South itinerary accompanied by a presentation and orientation of Golden Chariot. Later visit the Chitrakala Parishad for an exclusive cultural show. Alternatively, make a quick visit to the ISKCON Temple (The International Society for Krishna Consciousness).

Assemble at the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station by 20:00 hours where the Pride of the South tour itinerary waits to begin.

After a traditional welcome by the staff of the train, you will be ushered to your royal cabins. The train begins its journey. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.

In the morning head towards Mysore, the next destination in line. Post-breakfast you will disembark from the train and begin your journey towards Mysore. After you visit the famous Amba Vilas Mysore Palace, depart for Kabini in coach.

Now a part of the Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Kabini was once a hunting retreat of the Mysore Maharajas. Check-in to the Kabini jungle resort. Have lunch and take rest. Leave for Jungle safari in late afternoon. The excitement of safari into the heart of the jungle, where you are sure to spot wild animals in their natural habitat is undoubtedly wonderful. After you have had a thrilling adventure, attend the screening of wildlife film.

Dinner followed by camp fire and stay overnight at jungle lodges resort.

Begin the day with a leisurely boat ride for bird safari on Kabini River. Return to the jungle lodge for breakfast, after which you drive back to Mysore. Arrive to the station where you board the Golden Chariot and proceed for a delicious lunch.

Mysore, the erstwhile capital of the Wodeyar Maharajas, is home to a few opulent palaces and is a centre of sandalwood-carving, silk and incense production. A short coach trip from Mysore will take you to the capital of South India's very own tiger, Tipu Sultan, at Srirangapatna. Srirangapatnam sightseeing includes Dariya Daulat, Tipu mausoleum and drive through the fort. Later proceed for shopping at CIE.

Savour a sumptuous dinner and a cultural performance. By 22:00 hours you will return to the train for overnight stay as the train travels.

Golden Chariot proceeds for Hassan, set deep in the Karnatakan countryside. On arrival, deboard the luxury train for sightseeing to Shravanabelagola. There will be 700 steps to be climbed in order to reach the architectural gem, those who are willing can join and others can stay at the Golden Chariot and rejuvenate in spa, gym or restaurants.

Back on board The Golden Chariot for a sumptuous lunch. Depart for Belur and Halebidu to visit the magnificent temple complexes. The glory of 10th century Hoysala architecture awaits to be explored. Take a trip around the temple courtyards of this World Heritage Site to appreciate the intricate workmanship of the sculptures, friezes and ornate pillars.

Back on board The Golden Chariot. Dinner and overnight stay as the train journey to its next destination.

Today, the Golden Chariot takes you to Hospet. Have a hearty breakfast platter on board after which you depart for sightseeing. The splendours of the erstwhile capital of the Vijayanagara Empire await you at Hampi, just 13 km away from Hospet. Explore the World Heritage sites like Hemakuta Hill, Vijaya Vittala temple complex Virupaksha temple, Queens Bath, Elephant stables, Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple. This, together with the boulder strewn landscape and the Tungabhadra River gives Hampi a charm that is almost ethereal.

Return to Hospet railway station to board The Golden Chariot. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Golden Chariot departs from Hospet this morning to reach Badami. Badami, as its name says is related to the colour of Badaam (Almond); the Red-stoned edifices and cliffs, totally sets the scene to make the name Badami aptly suitable.

Breakfast will be served as you arrive in Badami. Sightseeing in Pattadakal and Badami Caves.

Back to the Golden Chariot. Lunch will be served as the train will then leave for Goa. Free time to relax and enjoy the facilities on board - Spa, Gym, Movies, etc. Dinner and overnight stay on baord.

On your 7th day of the trip arrive to Goa. The smallest state of India is full of tourist pleasures. Magical beaches are a speciality but there is so much more. After breakfast aboard the Golden Chariot, leave for sightseeing.

Start the tour with churches in Goa. Visit the famous churches of old Goa. Walk through the Old Portuguese house now an emporium for shopping and refreshments.

Lunch at the luxury resort in Goa followed by beach stroll and Hi-Tea. Return to The Golden Chariot. Dinner and overnight stay on-board.

Given below are the inclusions, exclusions and other details of the Golden Chariot - Pride of the South.

  • Half fare for children between 5 and 12 years.
  • Christmas and New Year being the peak holiday season calls for a 10% surcharge levied on all departures.
  • As per the Government of India norms, Service Tax @ 5% GST is levied on the prevalent tariff.
Inclusions

The tariff of this luxury train includes accommodation on board, the meals, the sightseeing trips, and the entrance fees (while entering monuments, parks, palaces and other sightseeing locations).

Exclusions

The fare of the Golden Chariot does not comprise of tips, phone calls, and camera fees in the sightseeing locations, SPA car and Business car facilities, liquor as well as laundry.

No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment:

No Show

In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.

Cancellation Policy

Cancelation policies as mentioned in the tariff (FIT) are as:

  • When booking is cancelled 60 days prior to departure - 5% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure - 20% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure - 100% of ticket value will be deducted.

Cancelation policies as mentioned in the tariff (for Groups) are as:

  • When booking is cancelled 60 days prior to departure - 10% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure - 75% of ticket value will be deducted
  • When booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure - 100% of ticket value will be deducted
En route termination of tour -

In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.

Amendment

Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case be decided on merits on a case to case basis.

The booking policies:

The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (FIT) are as follows:

  • Payment of 20% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
  • Remaining 80% of ticket value can be paid 60 days prior to departure.

The reservation policies of the Pride of the South tariff (for Groups) are as follows:

  • Payment of 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking is mandatory.
  • Remaining 50% of ticket value can be paid 45 days prior to departure.
