Detail Itinerary

Assemble in Delhi at the Safdarjung Railway Station. The crew of Maharajas' Express welcomes you with Indian traditions. Complete all formalities and be ushered to your luxurious cabins.

Dinner is served on board as the train leaves for Agra. Overnight stay in the train.

Wake up early in the morning and proceed to visit the breath-taking Taj Mahal. This white-marble mausoleum is not merely a UNESCO World Heritage Site but one of the 'Seven Wonders of the World'. The icon of love is a highlight of the tour.

Soak in the beauty after which proceed for champagne breakfast at Taj Khema. Later, choose to return to the comfort of Maharajas' Express or visit the Itmad-ud-daula Tomb, the Baby Taj. You can also choose to explore Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal city. Dotted with architectural marvels, the old city was founded by Akbar in 1569 and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Return to the train for lunch. Afterwards you can again choose to visit the magnificent Agra Fort or spa rejuvenation in a five star hotel or a private shopping tour.

In the evening choose to return to the train or attend Mohabbat The Taj Show- a cultural show depicting the love story Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.

Dinner and overnight stay on board as the train leaves for Sawai Madhopur.

Arrive in the Sawai Madhopur station early in the morning as you enjoy a scrumptious breakfast. Leave for an exciting game drive to the Ranthambore National Park. It is one of largest national parks of Rajasthan well-known for its population of tigers. Spot these ferocious beasts in the natural habitats. Return to the comfort of Maharajas Express.

Savour delicious lunch as the train arrives in Jaipur. Deboard to pay a visit to Amer Fort, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Rajasthan. Other optional tours other than visiting the magnificent Jaipur fort are spa sessions in a five-star hotel/ shopping/ golfing in Rambagh Golf Club/ or visiting the City Palace and Jantar Mantar.

Later, proceed to City Palace/Jal Mahal Palace. Here you can indulge in elephant activities such as feeding, riding or painting them. In the evening, attend cultural dance performances followed by dinner.

Return to the Maharajas' Express and stay overnight as the train leaves for Delhi.

Gems of India itinerary comes to an end today. The train will arrive in Delhi early in the morning. After a leisurely breakfast, bid farewell to Maharajas' Express.

Inclusions

The tariff of the Maharajas Express includes accommodation, meals, beverages (light drinks, tea, coffee, and mineral water), Indian wines (in house brands), butler service, and porter-age at stations, guided tours and entrance fees at monuments.

Exclusions

The tariff however does not include taxes, insurances, alcoholic beverages, telephone calls, laundry, and fees of video and professional cameras.


Booking Policy

Booking policy followed by the Maharajas Express is as follows:

  • If booking is done prior to 90 days of departure or more, then 25% of the total tariff is to be paid at the time of booking.
  • Remaining 75% of ticket value can be paid 60 days prior to departure.
  • If booking is done less than 60 days of departure or less, then full 100% of the total tariff is to be paid at the time of booking.
Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy that is followed by the train is as:

  • If cancelled 60 days or more prior to departure date, then 25% of the published tour cost is deducted.
  • If cancelled 45-59 days prior to departure date, then 50% of the published tour cost is deducted.
  • If cancelled 0-44 days prior to departure date, then 100% of the published tour cost is deducted.
  • If you fail to show up on the departure date, then 100% of the published tour cost is deducted.
