Operating since January 2010, Maharajas' Express is the newest addition to the Indian luxury trains. World’s most luxurious, this train is solely owned by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and is known for 'luxury travel like no other'. Maharajas' Express accommodates 88 passengers at one time providing luxuries fit for royalty. The train comprises 24 carriages, which include palatial accommodation, dining, bar, lounge, and a host of luxuries.

Providing its namesake, the Maharaja-style train been awarded as World Leading Luxury Train at World Travel Award for five consecutive years, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016. The train has also won the Seven Stars 2015 in the category "Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards". The train offers 6 tastefully-crated pan- Indian itineraries which take the guests on a ride across the prominent destinations of the country, the Taj Mahal, royal cities of Rajasthan, the erotic Khajuraho temples, wildlife environs of Ranthambore, Fatehpur Sikri and the holy bathing ghats of Varanasi etc.

The Train

One of the finest luxury trains of India, Maharajas' Express started its journey in the year 2010. This Indian luxury train offers 5 pan-Indian journeys, across some of the most popular destinations in India, along with stunning vistas.

Replete with luxury and vintage nostalgia, Maharajas' Express rail tours take you back into times of the royalty. The train is termed as the answer of India to the Orient Express of the West. Out of the five journeys, 2 have golden triangle tour including Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, while the three other are pan-India tours. Visit the prime Indian attractions and destinations including the classic Khajuraho, the spiritual Varanasi, the regal Rajasthan, the cultural potpourri of Maharashtra and more. These journeys are a blend of culture, architecture, wildlife, scenery and so on.

84 passengers can be accommodated in the elegantly-equipped cabins of the Maharajas' Express luxury train. Luxurious Presidential suite, expanding over the whole carriage, is one of the highlights. Guests can indulge in various on-board facilities including 2 multi-cuisine restaurants, a lounge bar that comes with a library, and a souvenir shop.

Maharajas' Express has 14 guest carriages, accommodating 88 guests. Providing a luxurious stay, amid world-class comforts, the room categories are segregated into- 20 Deluxe Cabins, 18 Junior Suites, 4 Suites and a lavish Presidential Suite.

Every cabin comes with amenities like direct dial phone, Wi-Fi facility and LCD television. The other 5-star comforts offered on-board the Maharajas' Express include private butler, round the clock room service and capacious private baths with showers. Other modern features are:
